About Simon

Simon has been practising as a qualified Osteopath Acupuncturist and Medical herbalist for over 30 years.

He mainly works in integrated private healthcare settings with GPs, nurses, midwives, occupational health practitioners and consultants.

Simon also works closely with his wife Karen who as a talented and experienced meditation and hypnobirthing teacher assists couples preparing for pregnancy and childbirth

Simon studied osteopathy at the European School of Osteopathy (ESO) and graduated in 1988, developing a special interest in paediatric Osteopathy.
He went on to study Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine at the British College of Acupuncture (no longer existing) and has post-graduate certificates in Dermatology and Gynaecology. In 1992 he studied Acupuncture, Tui Na massage and Medical Qigong - Chinese bio energetic medicine in China at the Beijing International Acupuncture Training Centre. During this time he also studied the healing techniques of Yin style Ba Gua, one of the main internal martial Arts of China and its health-building Dao Yin exercises under Dr Xie Pei Qi.

Simon continues his studies of herbal medicine with Dr Liu Jinliang and Jeffrey Yuen.

Simon’s fields of interest include the effects of birth trauma on infant feeding, ACE’s and trauma informed care, fertility, and fear of childbirth.

In his care of parents and newborns he has helped many infants with breastfeeding difficulties. Simon is also trained to assess and divide tongue-tie. He is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and has a Lactation Education Accreditation and Approval Review Committee (LEAARC) approved Breastfeeding Specialist Diploma.

Simon will never discourage a patient from seeking orthodox medical advice and sometimes will actively encourage them to do so. He often consults various suitably qualified and experienced colleagues for advice about patients, their care and their specific needs. Patients are often referred by their GP or Consultant.
